Tour Features

After checking in at the Colorado River Discovery office at 8:00 AM, you’ll be transported by motorcoach down the two-mile-long tunnel through the walls of Glen Canyon, emerging at the base of the impressive Glen Canyon Dam.   There you will meet with your Colorado River Discovery guide and board your row boats.  As you row down this peaceful and beautiful stretch of river, your experienced captain will regale you with stories of the human and natural history, wildlife and geology of this remarkable region.  You will make a stop and take a short walk to Ancestral Puebloan Petroglyphs (Indian Carvings) that are approximately 2,000 years old.

You will then continue down to lunch beach, where you will enjoy an extraordinary deli style river lunch.  After your bellies are full, you’ll make your way downriver to historic Lees Ferry, where you will say farewell to your river guide and board a motorcoach back to the Colorado River Discovery office in Page.

The Colorado River rowing trip is a great way to experience this unique and scenic area in a more intimate and serene manner than on a motorized trip, and since it takes place entirely on smooth water, it’s a fun and relaxing way for people of virtually all ages to experience the river as it was in the old days.  Space is limited to just 32 passengers per day, so book your seats now!
