Starting early in the morning at the Hualapai Lodge in Peach Springs, Arizona, your 42-mile Grand Canyon rafting trip begins with a bus ride to the only place at the bottom of the canyon that you can drive to: Diamond Creek.
After meeting your Native American guide and boarding your pontoon boat, you waste no time getting wet, as you plunge into your first set of Class III rapids. After floating for awhile, you then pull over and take a little hike into a hidden nook of the Colorado River, where an underground spring emerges through the travertine to form a beautiful waterfall.
Back on the river, it's time for more excitement as more white water awaits you! The rapids on this trip average Class II and III, considered "moderate" on a scale of I to IV, which means that this trip can be enjoyed by children as young as 8.
After an exhilarating run through the rapids, the river smooths back out as you get ready to take a break for lunch. After lunch, the rest of your journey is all about relaxation and reflection on your busy day, as you float for about 2 hours to your final destination, Grand Canyon West. Here, your river guide bids you farewell as you board a helicopter for a brief but exciting flight back to the canyon rim.
Back on the rim, you then board a motorcoach and head back to Hualapai Lodge.
